C-type lectins play important roles in innate immunity as pattern recognition receptors (PRRs).Previously, we obtained two C-type lectins HaCTL3 and HaCTL7 from the cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera), and each of which comains two carbohydrate-recognition domains (CRDs), namely N-terminal CRD (HaCTL7D1) and C-terminal CRD (HaCTL7D2).Interestingly, there are four but not six of conserved cysteines residues in HaCTL7D2, which is different from other dual CRD C-type lectins including HaCTL3.
