Purpose:We investigate the relationship between diabetic retinopathy and carotid distensibilitycoefficient in elderly type 2 diabetic Japanese patients.Methods:We studied 98 elderly type 2 diabetic patients aged 65 years or older in outpatient department of Geriatric Medicine (mean age 73.6±5.6years).The subjects were categorized as those with retinopathy (DR group) and those without retinopathy (NDR group).And we measured minimum carotid distensibility coefficient (Min-CD) which was defined the minimum carotid diameter change of both sides.Clinical characteristics and Min-CD were compared among two groups.
