　　Saussurea involucrate (Kar.et Kir.) Sch.Bip.is a popular traditional medicinal and has great pharmacological value for the therapy of rheumatism, stomachache and various female disorders.To protect these endangered plants, callus suspended culture of S.involucrate has been used to meet the greatly demand.However, the difference of polyphenols composition and quantity between callus and wild herbs are usually unknown, which limited the application.Therefore, the detail analysis of the callus of S.involucrate was necessary.
