UV-B (280-315 nm) irradiation has beneficial effects on horticultural crop production, especially for disease protection, but it also causes damage to the plants, such as DNA lesions and injury to the photosynthetic machinery, and leads to growth suppression,changes in morphology, and leaf scorching, although the sensitivityvaries among plant species.
