Neuroligin is a highly conserved family of cell adhesion molecules which are implicated in synapse formation and function.Previous studies have already showed Drosophila neuroligin2 (dnlg2) mutants exhibit a decrease in the total glutamate receptor density and size of dPak (p21-activated kinases) clusters. However, the mechanism of regulation of glutamate receptor by dnlg2 is still remains unclear.
