A novel Gram-reaction-negative,aerobic,non-motile,rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain EM1308T,was isolated from stream water in Bukhansn National Park,Seoul,Korea.Phylogenic analysis based on its 16S rRNA gene phylogeny indicated strain EM1308T belongs to the genus Flavobacterium and is most closely related to F.glycines Gm-149T(97.16%16S rRNA gene sequence similarity)and F.piscis 412R-09T(97.08%).Growth occurred aerobically at 4-30℃(optimum 28 ℃),at pH 5.5-9 and in the presence of 0-1%(w/v)NaCl.In API ZYM and API 20 NE test, alkaline phosphatase,esterase(C4),esterase lipase(C8),leucine arylamidase, acid phosphatase,naphthol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase,α-chymotrypsin,a-galactosidase,β-galactosidase,α-glucosidase,and N-acetyl-β-glucosaminidasewere positive. The genome of strain EM1308T was sequencedusing an Illurnina MiseqPE300 platformwhich provided 1,068,650 total sequencing reads with 57.0-foldcoverage.Genome assembly was constructed using CLC Genomics Workbench version 6.5.1,generating215contigs.The 4,321,991 bp long genome exhibits a G+C content of 35.12%and contains 3,661protein-coding genes and 45 RNA genes, including 43 tRNA genes. On the basis of phenotypic, phylogenetic, and genotypic analysis, strain EM 1308T represented a novel species of the genus Flavobacteirum.
