Portland cement is considered one of the most important construction materials in the world due to, for instance, the mechanical and durability behaviour. However, the industrial production of Portland cement is characterised by a high energy demand, by the use of non-renewable prime materials and for the emission of greenhouse gases, mainly CO2.Therefore, the study of new cementitious materials more eco-efficient based on the reuse of different wastes constitute a priority line of research and technological innovation in the pursuit of industry sustainabilitv.
