  Incorporation of nano/micro-sized catalysts into porous structures of advanced energy systems, e.g., fuel cells, exhaust gas treatment devices, reformers and batteries, etc., has been proven highly successful in increasing active areas and catalyst utilization.In addition, the charge transport and reactions as well as heat transfer processes in solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) porous electrodes are strongly affected by the small scale and complex porous structures.
