Purpose of review Cytochrome P450 (CYP) epoxygenase/soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) is highly expressed in the adipose tissue and islets and its metabolism of arachidonic acid plays important roles in regulating metabolic related pathophysiology. In the past few years, progress has been made not only in characterizing the CYP epoxygenases/sEH responsible for the regulation of metabolism but also in exploring the associated mechanisms. This review summarizes and updates recent progress in this area of research.
