1-octene is a kind of very important comonomer for the industrial production of the high-density polyethylene.1 However, ethylene tetramerization to 1-octene always accompanies by ethylene trimerization.2 Until recently, Gambarotta group reported that Cr-2,2-dipyridylamine is able to catalyze ethylene tetramerization with a very high selectivity (＞99％).
