前言长期以来,人们总是认为我国东部地区新生代海相地层的分布是十分有限的。第三纪的海相地层,除了在我国的新疆、台湾、西藏分布较广以外,只在临海地区(如旅顺)有零星发现。第四纪的海相地层也局限在河北、山东、江苏、广东沿海一带。其余广大地区,一概被认为是陆相地层。可是近十年来,随着我国地质工作迅猛发展,目前在山东的早、晚第三纪、广东的晚第三纪,以及东部一些盆地的早第三纪地层中,都发现了有孔虫化石层。在山西运城、河北蔚县、怀来盆地也相继发现第四纪的有孔虫化石层(见图1)。这些化石,除广东、山东晚
Foreword For a long time, people always think that the distribution of the Cenozoic marine strata in eastern China is very limited. The marine strata of the Tertiary period, except for Xinjiang, Taiwan and Tibet which are widely distributed in our country, have only been found sporadically in the Linhai area (such as Lushun). Quaternary marine strata are also limited to Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Guangdong coastal areas. The rest of the vast area, all considered terrestrial strata.
