Carbonate shoal reservoirs of the Middle Triassic Leikoupo Formation in the Sichuan Basin were investigated for potential gas resources.The carbonate shoal reservoirs of the Leikoupo Formation in Sichuan basin can be divided by their genetic mechanism into residual intergranular pore type reservoirs,karstification type reservoirs(further divided into syndepositional,burial,and supergene types),dolomitization type,and composite type.Residual intergranular pores and dissolved pores are the main reservoir spaces in the eponymous type.
