The thermodynamic stability is among the most important biophysical characteristics of proteins.The stability may dictate many other features of the protein, such as its structural integrity, its fluctuations and thus its function.However, predicting protein stability is a computationally challenging task that is evident from the fact that protein stability is limited and is often of few kcal/mol only, which is due to a balance between several opposing contributions (entropic and enthalpic components of either the folded or unfolded states).In my talk, I will discuss show post-translational modification or tethering may change protein stability.
