Stimuli-responsive hollow micro-and nano-capsules,especially for capsules which can respond to multiple-stimuli in a predictable manner,are finding increasing applications in biomedicine and drug delivery [1].Hydroxylapatite (HAP),as a major inorganic constituent of teeth and bones,has been widely used in biomedical area.Among different HAP biomaterials,hollow HAP microparticles with high specific surface area and high capacity for drug loading show great potential as candidate carriers for multi-responsive drug release [2].However,a rapid initial burst release is observed when hollow HAP microparticles are used as the vehicles for smart drug delivery,which will limit the broad applications of hollow HAP microparticles in controlled drug delivery area.
