Prepared at room temperature was a stable inverse concentrated polymerization emulsion (ICPE), as well as a common emulsion with a low volume fraction of dispersed phase and a pesudo ICPE obtained from the centrifuge of the common emulsion, as a control. The morphology of latex particles was observed under an optic microscope and the size and its distribution were statistically figured out.The wedge effect of small particles was proposed and testified by a theological technique and the stability variation in terms of the hyperacoustic and thermal treatment. The effect of volume, viscosity of oil phase, and the amount of emulsifiers on the stability of ICPE were investigated.
