Ion—cyclotron radio frequency(ICRF)wave has been widely used to heat plasmas in fusion devices with an input power up to a few mega watts. As the input power is sufficiently high, the nonlinear wave—particle interactions could be very important. To study the nonlinear effects during ICRF wave heating,particle-in-cell(PIC)simulation has been proved to be a promising candidate. However, for the parameters of present and future fusion devices such as EAST tokamak and ITER,the computer simulation based on the regular PIC method is computationally expensive.
