This study was carried out to investigate the effect of supplemental iodine on thyroid hormones and reproductive performance of Barbary sheep under the Southern region conditions of Libya.A total of 100 Barbary ewes,about 13 months of age with an average of 37.6 kg body weight were classified into two groups,A control group (50 animals) received no potassium iodide (KI) supplement,while the treated group (50 animals) received 0.2 mg KI supplement/ kg BW daily during mating,pregnancy and lactation.Blood samples were taken for measuring of T3 and free T4.
