In the thin film composite (TFC) reverse osmosis (RO) membranes, supported membrane plays an important part.It has to have excellent anti-pressure performance, hydrophilicity, a small molecular weight cut-off(MWCO) and moderate pure water flux(PWF).In this paper, three materials: polysulfone (PSF), polyvinyl alcohol (PEG), N, N-dimethylacetamide (DMac) are used trough different formulation to prepare PSF supported membrane that suitable for TFC-RO membrane.Asymmetric flat sheet PSF membranes were prepared by phase inversion method.Different molecular weights of PEG (PEG-2000, PEG-4000) were used as polymeric additives and DMac was used as solvent.
