A reconstruction of the kayak racing channel is being planned in Solkan, the So(c)a River, Slovenia. In order to assist the designer in optimizing the shape and functionality of the new course, numerical simulations of flow in the channel have been performed using the two-dimensional depth-averaged mathematical model PCFLOW2D developed at the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering of the University of Ljubljana.
