Spinal cord compression is a dire complication of cancer that can occur at anytime in the course of neoplastic disease from initial presentation to years after initial diagnosis.The neurologic sequelae can produce severe disability and have significant impact on the quality of life.In the past 10 years the management of spinal cord compression has evolved dramatically.Presenting manifestations, evaluation, treatment decisions must be carefully individualized to provide the proper treatment for the right patient at the right time.This session will review the current role for imaging techniques, radiation, surgical intervention and general management of the patient with spinal cord compression.
