Transition metal oxides (TMO),such as FeOx,CoOx,and NiO,have been promising alternative anode materials, instead of commercial graphite, for lithium ion batteries (LIBs) electrode because of the high theoretical specific capacity (> 600 mA h-1).However,bulk transition metal oxides are still far from application as LIB anode materials because they suffer from problems such as poor electrical conductivity and the large volume change.Poor conductivity always leading to low power density and large volume change will induce pulverization, which result in a low rate capability and a rapid capacity decay.Currently there are two efficient strategies toward alleviating these problems: nanostructuring and mixing the nanostructured metal oxides with conductive and stretchable materials.Based on these,we prepared various TMO/C composite as anode materials for LIBs.
