Bonding aluminum on α-alumina is a difficult task due to its poor wettability on α-alumina.However,we obtain a several micrometer-thick aluminum film bonded tightly on α-alumina ceramics and sapphire with a novel dip-coating method,by inserting them into molten aluminum and then removing them out.This process depends on a delicate adjustment of oxygen content in the atmosphere of the dip coating furnace,both for decreasing the surface energy of aluminum and prohibiting the oxidation of interface region.
