The prevalence of media-related distractions in modern life puts a premium on the ability to focus attention.Thischallenge begins early in life,and it would be useful to have real-time measures of distraction in realistic environments.Mobile eyetracking methods provide a way to look at how children manage their attention in complex situations.In this study we presented Chinese preschoolers with a task (building block towers based on a combination of instructions and a videotaped model) in the presence of a distraction (an interesting cartoon).Separately,we measured their ability to inhibit behavior using a behavioral task (the HTKS task of Ponitz,parafoveal processing.Second,the foveal load modulate parafoveal processing which results in more characters at parafovea are processed when the fovea load is low.
