Deforestation is spreading rapidly causing declines in loss of habitats for birds.Despite the fact that there is increasing deforestation, forest birds persistence has been registered.Forest dependant bird species in six sites in central Uganda were analysed. The analysis assimilated results of two datasets for feeding guilds and combined species habitat data of birds. The targeted bird habitats were of forest specialists; forest generalists; and forest visitors.Identifying factors that facilitate bird persistence within these deforested areas is therefore important. It was found that deforested areas support diverse and less abundance of bird species. However it was recorded that the conservation of birds in the rapidly disappearing forests,is dependent on several landscape factors. The results of this analysis will help to refine forest management plans for conservation to be fully achieved.
