Flash NanoPrecipitation (FNP) is a nanoprecipitation process that achieves rapid solvent displacement by means of high intensity mixing geometries.Rather than generating polymer nanoparticles from its constituent monomers, polymer chains dissolved in a solvent are mixed with a non-solvent, e.g., typically water, to precipitate out nanopartieles.Main advantages of nanoprecipitation are a three-component process, i.e., the bulk polymer, the solvent, and the non-solvent;fast processing times;continuous process;low energy consumption;and high reproducibility.
