Microreactors have unambiguous advantages in process safety and mass/heat transfer intensification.However, the small throughput of the microchannel and the high pressure drop of the microreactor are big obstacles to industrial application.To overcome these obstacles, a microfludic device, which has typical arborescent structure, has been designed according to constructal theory.This device is compact and has a very small flow resistance because the structural parameters are determined by simultaneously minimizing energy consumption and channel volume [1].More interestingly, it can be configured for distributing single or two-phase flow and mixing two fluids.As an illustration, the configuration for gas-liquid mixing is shown below.
