Bio-oil upgrading and utilization is paid lots of attention,while being actively developed in recent years.To date,the conversion to high-quality liquid fuels and chemicals from bio-oil light fraction has been proved feasible via catalytic hydrotreatment.However,the heavy fraction generally account for 30-40%of all liquid products is still facing lots of difficulties for its final use.In this paper,a novelty of using bio-oil heavy fraction as a feedstock for hydrogen generation via iron oxide redox cycle,referred to as chemical looping hydrogen generation,is introduced.Based on its principles of alternative reduction and oxidization,a dual fluidized bed reactor was designed and built for the proposed process.Currently,the hydrodynamic analysis was conducted to gain some running experience for the hot rig with an exploration on optimal operating parameters.The effect of gas velocities,particle sizes,total bed inventories on solid flux and gas leakage were intensively investigated.
