After encountering failures under structural adjustment policies followed by prolonged neglect of funding for African agriculture by the west.Africa seems to be looking to the east for solutions in agricultural development. We start by revisiting the Sino Africa agricultural investments and cooperation debate. This study tries to explore this new shift and to answer the question,if there are lessons Africa can learn from Chinese agricultural path.We also make comparisons between the two regions during their different periods of agricultural development without losing focus on the similarities especially the smallholder nature and levels of poverty 30 years ago.
