Sliding contacts between a rubber block and a solid surface including a tire and asphalt,a windshield wiper and glass surface are found in everyday life as significant phenomena. For example, the contact dynamics between a tire and a road surface are essential in guaranteeing the operation stability and safety because a tire is the only points connecting the body of vehicles and the road surface. That is why the evaluation of friction properties of rubber is critical. However, the simulation model that can predict friction properties of rubber is the accompanied by difficulty since rubber friction depends on various factors such as the viscoelastic characteristics of the bulk material and the interfacial characteristics in contacting solids. Also,a localized buckling is formed in the leading edge of the rubber block under sliding contact, causing a decrease in the frictional force and uneven wear. Therefore, the rubber friction increases as increasing the viscoelastic dissipation of the bulk material, and a non-uniform macroscopic deformation of the rubber block significantly affects the frictional behavior.
