Boletes are very important both economically and ecologically due to their edibility and formation of mycorrhizal symbiosis with plants.Mycologists in both China and western countries have studied the tubulate and lamellate boletes for more than one hundred years. To date, more than 30 genera and over 400 species, representing about one third of the globally known bolete genera and species, have been reported from China.Nearly 49% of the known Chinese boletes were identified as taxa originally described from eastern Asia and other parts of Asia.
