It is well established that timely diagnosis of viral infection can shorten the delay in treatment,reduce the duration of hospitalization, and improve the quality of patient care.However,there is lack of reliable point-of-care (POC) detection technology for many viruses.Although Rapid Influenza Diagnostic Tests (RIDTs) are available for Influenza A virus (IAV) in the market, they have low sensitivity and are not quantitative.Hence, diagnosis is often inconclusive until further laboratory testing through reverse-transcription-PCR (RT-PCR) in specialized diagnostic laboratories.Therefore, rapid and reliable POC detection of IAV is highly desired for effectively controlling the outbreak and spread of diseases.
