在高等生物个体的发育和生长过程中,细胞通过调控细胞核内染色质高级结构的动态变化来有选择性地进行基因的激活和沉默,从而控制细胞自我维持或定向分化,决定细胞的组织特异性和细胞命运.染色质结构的高度动态变化在基因转录沉默和激活过程中起重要作用,从而为表观遗传提供一个重要的信息整合平台.
