Ulmus davidiana is a deciduous tree widely distributed in Korea.The root and stem bark are used in traditional oriental medicine to treat edema,mastitis,gastric cancer,and inflammation.Recently,the previous study reported that Ulmus davidiana extracts demonstrated strong antioxidant activities in assays for DPPH radical scavenging,hydroxyl radical scavenging,lipid peroxidation inhibition,and reducing power.In this study,we examined the antioxidant activities of Ulmus davidiana root and bark extracts.
