Nepal's urbanization rate at present is about 38 percent. It was 14 percent urbanization until 2011 that has increased to about 38 percent primarily by merging small town like settlements and many villages together.Available studies and media reports suggest that most of the small towns and periurban areas in Middle Hills of Nepal have been facing water scarcity primarily due to drying off of the natural springs and reduction of water flow in the existing water sources during the dry season.
