Three-month-old nurseries of 21 cultivars in the 3rd IACT were planted in the Experimental Farm at Hokkaido University, Sapporo City in Hokkaido, in April 2007.The experimental location is a cool and snow-covered region.Planting density was 18510 plants/ha, with 30 cm between plants and 180 cm between rows.Planting design was 4 replications, 20 plants per plot.Chemical fertilizer including 200 kg N, 150 kg P2O5 and 150 kg K2O per ha was applied in 2007 and 2008, and 100 kg N, 200 kg P2O5 and 100 kg K2O was done after spear harvest after 2009.All cultivars were for green asparagus production.
