Based on the analogous kagomé [Co3(imda)2] layers,a family of pillar-layered frameworks with the formula of [Co3(imda)2(pillar)3]·(pillar)n·xH2O have been successfully synthesized by hydrothermal/solvothermal method(imda = imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate; for 1,pillar = pyz = pyrazine,n = 0,x = 8; for 2,pillar = 4,4-bpy = 4,4-bipyridine,n = 1,x = 8; for 3,pillar =1,4-dpb = 1,4-di(pyridin-4-yl)benzene,n = 1,x = 13; for 4,pillar = 4,4-dpbp = 4,4-di(pyridin-4-yl)-1,1-biphenyl,n = 1,x = 14).
