Rationale:Cardiomyocytes apoptosis contributes significantly to cardiac remolding after acute myocardial infarction (MI).Prostaglandin D2 (PGD2),lipid metabolite derived from arachidonic acid,plays a pivotal role in inflammation.PGD2 has also been shown to involve in the process of cell apoptosis,but how PGD2 mediates cardiomyocytes apoptosis and whether it affects cardiac healing after acute MI remain to be investigated.
