In order to understand and master the dynamic characteristics of air-cooled condenser support structure system, vibration period and vibration models have been obtained by building and an alyzing the finite element models of common layout forms such as without overhung, two side overhung, trilateral overhung and quads overhung for 1000MW air-cooled condenser support structure system.Analysis results demonstrate that torsion effect of air-cooled support structure exists because torsional stiffness is far less than its lateral stiffness.As traditional air-cooled structure has several features such as low stiffness,demanding large amount of steel, too simple for seismic fortification, a new kind of air-cooled condenser support structure system with diagonal bracing has been put forward.Finite element models of new system with two-side overhung has been built and analyzed in this paper.The results show that the system can effectively improve the structure stiffness and reduce steel support platform height.Therefore,it is very useful for application.
