High-resolution MRI, particularly dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI), provides high sensitivity for the detection of breast lesions and is routinely used on clinical (1.5 Tesla) scanners.Recent studies have shown that other magnetic resonance techniques (MRT), such as diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) improve the specificity of differentiation between benign and malign lesions.Furthermore, MR-based multimodalities may become an important tool to quantitatively evaluate the early response of breast cancer patients to neoadjuvant chemotherapy.Aim of this study was to implement a combination of improved MR-techniques at a high-field (3T) clinical scanner in a clinically acceptable time, and to test the feasibility of these methods to indicate early therapy response to breast cancer treatment.
