The entomopathogenic fungus Ophiocordyceps sinensis is one of the best known traditional Chinese medicines but the cultivation for fruit bodies has not been developed successfully due to the very low frequency of stromata formation from artificially infected moth larvae.Sufficient light was necessary during the stromata formation and the ejection of the ascospores.
