review paper draws on a literature review effort aiming to map out the use of narrative in educational research on teachers,and reports one of the noticeable trend identified in the literature review,which is the use of narrative in higher teacher education(TE)and professional development(PD).The organization of the paper goes as follows: first is the background literature review effort,followed by some basic statistics as well as analysis of the use of narrative in higher TE and PD.Next two major patterns emerging from this trend will be reported: one focuses on higher education course design and delivery,and the other,on the use,role and value of narrative in the TE and PD context.Finally,a discussion on the trends and implications for future research is provided.
