The leafhopper genus Chiasmodolon was described by Dietrich, in Dietrich & McKamey (1990), for the species C bhangwandorum Dietrich.Lozada (2001) added six species to the genus.Three of these were ones Osborn (1923, 1924) first described in the genus Idiocerus Lewis.These were I.hyalinus Osbom,I.rotundifrons Osbom [=I.osbroni Metcalf (1966] and I.flavotinctus Osbom.
