Aims: Now,obesity and obesity-related diseases become more common.Apelin may play an important role in stimulating energy metabolism.In the present study,we compared the body weight,triglyceride(TG),protein/mRNA levels of apelin/APJ,hypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α)and some genes which closely related with fatty acid oxidation and energy metabolism,such as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptorα(PPARα),estrogen-related receptor(ERRα)and nuclear respiratory factor1(NRF1)in skeletal muscle of the obese mice with the normal mice,and investigated the effects of exercise,hypoxia,and combination of exercise plus hypoxia for four weeks on these index in the obese mice.
