The success or failure of the international development pilot project,one of the other is determined by good governance practice.Good governance is commonly required by donor institutions to the sustainability of international development projects.The study aimed at assuming good governance practiced in the performance of international development projects in Indonesia.This study investigated the three-dimension factor influence the international development pilot project performance,within the case study of IRRC-WTE pilot project in Jambi,Indonesia.The three dimensions of this study are leadership,political commitment,and community engagement.The merged of three-dimension formed a perspective of good governance practice to the performance of international development projects in Indonesia.A qualitative methodology via an in-depth interview,content analysis,and case study was adopted in this study.Fifty-two respondents with a varied background were analyzed.It has examined the variable implied in various contexts,particularly leadership,political commitment,and community involvement towards the project.The findings of the study revealed a positive and significant between all the three-dimensions in forming good governance practice.It also reflected eight principles and good governance theory:the rule of law;transparency;responsiveness;consensus-oriented;equity and inclusiveness;effective and efficiency;accountability;and participation.The current study also founds other factors(dimensions).namely partnership and political climate.Those two factors have been considered in shaping the international development project performance in Indonesia.The current study is expected as consideration and suggestion of the international organization and local government to diffusing similar projects in Indonesia and other developing countries.Furthermore,this study also expects to create a contribution to the good governance practice in local governments level to know-how to achieve sustainable development projects in Indonesia.
