Bagan is one of the flagship site,historic land and most popular tourist attraction place in Myanmar.It includes more than 3,000 temples and pagodas known as the most important tourism resources.Bagan is known for its attractive natural resources and culture.It’s an area where people who are participating in agriculture,producing traditional crafts,supporting each other on traditional crafts and agriculture.The people in Bagan are supporting traditional festivals and religious ceremonies which have continued in their environment from the ancient eras.Therefore,the main aim of in our research will focus on sustainable tourism development for the intangible culture of traditional lacquerware craftsmanship in Bagan world heritage site in Myanmar,also such as social impacts of social,economic,job opportunities for local people and develop the livelihoods of the region’s people.The object of the research is to study the significant problems of the lacquerware industry in Bagan and to show how the development of traditional craftsmen for tourism in the heritage site has contributed.This research included semi-structured interviews with three groups of participants that I used in qualitative analysis research:(1)craftsmen(2)lacquerware retailers or owners and(3)government policymakers.The analysis was conducted using a grounded theory technique.The main findings of this research is a shortage of employee and lack of a successor.These findings will assist in preserving the intangible culture of the lacquerware craftsmanship and to developing the tourism industry.Traditional lacquerware not only in Myanmar but also in other countries can be expected to be a unique product in the tourism industry.It will also inspire the younger generation to learn and value of their heritage by preserving their craft practices and skills.
