电话的发明与使用方便了人与人之间的联系,但电话收费问题从其使用一始也随之出现。在最早接触这一新事物的上海人,特别是为了招揽生意方便的商业团体,由于不满电话公司增加话费,于1924—1925年就曾为电话收费问题与电话公司进行斗争过。双方的态度都比较强硬,不曾放弃自己的要求,以致造成不小的损失与不便,持续了半年之久,双方做出让步,但也没有最终的解决。此次电话费加价风波,为按次计费制拉开了序幕。
The invention and use of the telephone have facilitated the connection between people, but the issue of telephone charges has also arisen from the very beginning of its use. In 1924-1925, Shanghai residents who first came into contact with the new thing, especially those business organizations that were willing to attract business, had struggled with telephone companies in 1924-1925 because of dissatisfaction with the increase of telephone bills. The two sides both took a tough stance and never gave up their demands, resulting in no small loss and inconvenience that lasted for six months. Both parties made concessions but did not finally resolve the issue. The telephone charges increase the storm for the billing system kicked off.
