宝钢炼铁厂在1号高炉体风定修期间(24h)进行了大规模余热回收工程的改造,没有影响正常生产,这在国内尚属首创。该工程试运转一个月后于1990年11月23日正式投产。该余热回收装置包括烟气换热系统、空气换热系统、煤气换热系统和热媒水压送系统。该装置可充分利用热风炉烟道烟气中的大量热量,改善热风炉燃烧工况,降低焦炉煤气消耗量,每天可节约焦炉煤气12.48万m~3,相当于每年减少1.74万吨重油消耗量,改造工程所用
