要素膳(Elemental Diets)或称为化学成分明确的膳食(Chemically-defined diets),近20年来对它的研究取得了很大的进展,国外已有多种市售产品,广泛应用于临床,而成为一种有价值的营养治疗手段。要素膳最初是从研究人对氨基酸的需要量和用化学成分明确的膳食进行一系列的实验研究而发展起来的。研究资料证明摄食要素膳长达22周,能维持正常健康而无并发症产生,亦不引起不良的生理和心理反应。它与静脉营养相比较有许多优点,除了它的营养价值外,它可用来治疗许多特殊的疾病。许多研究结果已确定各种不同类型的要素膳有它的专门适应证。本文简要介绍要素膳的基本特点,配制方法、适应证、摄入方式及付作用。
