2004年荣获国家科学技术进步一等奖的秦岭特长铁路隧道,在国内首次引进并采用世界最先进的TBM掘进机,是中国隧道建设发展史上一个新的里程碑。作为引进TBM的主要发起人之一,刘春亲自主持了TBM在秦岭隧道的管理与维护工作,之后又主持了我国第一条铁路客运专线秦沈铁路设备的管理与维护工作。如今,已过花甲之年的刘春,虽已退休赋闲在家,但仍笔耕不缀,潜心于工程机械管理的研究与探索。
