1917年(民国六年)之冬,河北省高阳县荣庆昆弋社,由王益友、侯瑞春、侯成章组班,邀集侯益隆、韩子云、王树云、韩世昌等应北京田际云(梆子演员“想九宵”,高阳人,第一个女子科班崇雅社的组织者)之约来京演出于鲜鱼口天乐园(今大众剧场).首场剧目为侯益隆、王益友等大轴《通天犀》、压轴为郭蓬莱弋腔《别古寄信》、第二出为韩世昌之《刺虎》、开场戏《大点魁》.由于韩世昌年少,声容并佳,崭露头角.当时在北京大学读书之侯仲纯、刘步堂皆高阳同乡,韩通过他二人又结识了顾君义、王小隐请同学,因而影响到很多教授也经常来欣赏荣庆社的昆弋剧目.
